Get those duck calls out, people! With ‘Duck Dynasty’ (and its entire cast) returning to television on Jan. 15, let’s take a look back at the Robertsons’ most outrageous moments — on and off camera!
8.5 million people tuned in to the season five premiere of Duck Dynasty on Jan. 15 — a huge number for a cable show. But between the controversy that follows Phil Robertson, his brother Si‘s impressive quotability, and the rest of the family’s endless antics, it isn’t hard to see why people love the show.
Uncle Si, Sadie & More: Most Memorable ‘Duck Dynasty’ Moments
Duck Dynasty has provided a handful of great moments. In the season five premiere alone, Uncle Si spoke at length about the genius of Air Bud and organized a treasure hunt for children that ended at a grave site. Over the years some great Si moments include his tea party, where he got his nails and makeup done with the Robertson girls in season one, and the season three episode where he spent the whole thing handcuffed to Willie.

What was 'Duck Dynasty's' most memorable moment?
The Robertsons have also had some big moments outside of the Duck Dynasty world. During New York Fashion Week in Sept. 2013, Sadie actually realized her modeling dreams, walking in the Evening By Sherri Hill Spring 2014 show.
And the rest of the family tasted a new level of celebrity when they took the stagewith Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood to dance to “Blurred Lines” at the beginning of the 2013 CMAs.
Phil Robertson’s Controversial Comments
But for all of Duck Dynasty‘s fun, wild moments, there has been a controversy or two. The undoubtedly biggest one sprouted up in December when Phil gave an uncompromising interview to GQ magazine. In the piece, Phil made both racist and anti-gay comments that got him temporarily suspended from the show.
“Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there,” Phil started about his thoughts on homosexuality. “Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men. Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”
The comments caused all-around outrage — first from people who thought Phil was wrong, and then from people who thought those critics were being too harsh.
Phil’s controversial beliefs will always underline the show, but as long as Uncle Si is waxing poetic on Air Bud, and Jase is causing trouble at Duck Commander, it appears that people will continue tuning in. So HollywoodLifers, what is your favorite moment from Duck Dynasty? Let us know!
